„Diamonds are a girl's best friends“ is what Marilyn Monroe used to sing – today she would surely also love pearls, above all the special music pearls, which Monophonic has discovered and carefully chosen for the second Pearl Diver.

With Monophonic a.k.a. Torsten Martens, a pearl diver has been found who is a master of his trade. „Music was and is one of his favorite food“ it says in his biography; whoever knows him knows that this is right.

Just a few stations in his life: In Hamburg, Monophonic produced his own weekly radio drum´n´bass mix program and the international music scene soon noticed him. An engagement with Sony Music followed, shortly afterwards, Monophonic took over for a few years the much sought-after A & R job with the well-known label Mole Listening Pearls and successfully and sensitively shaped the sound of the label.

Monophonic´s home is the world. Whether in Moscow, Miami, London, Paris, Berlin, Heidelberg, Washington, Kopenhagen, or Zürich, he knows the best and hottest clubs, he was and is a much sought-after artist, whose music fills the audience with enthusiasm. He does, however, not fit in any pattern, he still describes his music as „freestyle“: „If it sounds good, just spin it on ´the wheels of steel´!“.

“Pearl diver, take me with you on your journey“ it says in a song of a famous German band, which leads one to suppose that the addressee of this title is Monophonic. The new Pearl Diver could have also been called „Capital City Mix“, for many of the hand-picked artists are at home in the respective capitals. Softly mixed, Monophonic leads you from quiet to dance tracks, an excellent compilation with many facets and a lot of potential. The spectrum takes into account the small labels (Rehash) as well as possible cross-over hits (Kraak & Smaak). The new Pearl Diver – drown in the (musical) rapture of the deep with Monophonic!
