With „Welcome to Machinarchy“ electronic pop duo Alphawezen aka Ernst Wawra and Asu presented a powerful preview to their second album „En Passant“ which was originally released in september 2004. Soundwise a charming bow to New Wave hymns of the 1980s, the song is messagewise a confrontation with mobile phone terror, unreflected belief in technology and the paradigm shift towards virtual love. In contrast to her appearances on the first album, singer Asu steps on the accelerator. Her once bewitching voice gets all challenging by accentuating the surprisingly tough beats and distorted synth strings with a nasty touch. Alphawezen’s new sound and content made some of the most acclaimed German producers hand in their remix versions. Mediengruppe Telekommander (according to highly respected spex magazine „one of the most important debut albums of the year“) hit the nerve with even more pressure. Crispy and crunchy indeed! Falko Brocksieper stays true to his soaring label Sub Static and scores on a minimal level with bone dry compact beats. Makes you bite the dust!
